Captain Jessica Tyson

Captain Jessica Tyson first went to sea in 1988 in the Merchant Navy, progressing through the ranks and sailing as Master. She sailed on a wide variety of vessels, including oil and gas tankers, passenger vessels, tugs, super yachts, small boats, yachts and paddle steamers over her 18 years at sea. She is now working as a marine consultant surveyor at SDC Marine, as well as being an authorised Pilot for the Port of Bridgwater.
She is an active member of Nautilus International (Maritime Professionals Union), a member of the council and the chair of the Women’s Forum. She is also a member of WISTA, the Nautical Institute and Energy Institute.
Her passion for the sea and all things marine remains undiminished.
