Human Rights at Sea is delighted to welcome Dr. Felicity G. Attard, Senior Lecturer in International Law at the University of Malta and President of the Malta Branch of the International Law Association as a Global Ambassador.
Dr. Attard said: "I was pleased to accept Lord Teverson’s invitation to act as a voluntary Global Ambassador for Human Rights at Sea. For almost a decade, I have been committed in my teaching and research to the protection of human dignity at sea. Having cooperated with the organisation for some years, I am impressed by its mission and the unwavering work of its founder, David Hammond, to combat and prevent human rights abuses at sea. I intend to assist in the implementation of its mission through my research and teaching, while also ensuring that its work is supported through my worldwide network of professional and academic contacts, particularly in the maritime field."
David Hammond, Founder, Human Rights at Sea, said: "Felicity is an internationally renowned academic and practitioner whose support has been constant and unwavering. I am, and we are, delighted that we have Felicity on the team as we continue evolving our ways and means of delivering genuine impact to combat abuse at sea."
