Our beliefs

At Human Rights At Sea we believe that:

1. Human rights are universal; they apply at sea as they do on land.

2. The sea is not a lawless place and those who violate individuals' human rights should be held to account.

3. Awareness and education protects people working at sea, prevents abuses, and helps ensure effective remedy for survivors and their families.

4. Abuses occur when good people turn a blind eye to bad things.

Clarity: We are clear and unambiguous.
