Captain Tyson said: “I am keen to promote the Merchant Navy and the life that is there. It is important that all facets of that life are protected by professionalism, integrity and fair play. I am happy to come on board with Human Rights at Sea and I hope provide what experience I can to them so that life at sea is well-recognised and that the rights of those serving at sea are equally recognised as being as important as those ashore.”

“We are an invisible international work force that is driven by professionalism and a love of the sea, but we are often forgotten by those whom we serve. Human Rights at Sea lends a voice to those who are not always heard. This must be a good thing for all.
